During the week of March 15, 2009, I will be traveling to Russian Mission, a village on the Lower Yukon. I will be spending time in secondary and perhaps elementary classrooms to observe, meet students and teachers, and hopefully teach a lesson or two. Since state testing is fast approaching, I may spend some time in the classroom helping students review for the tests and offering test-taking tips.

    Hi Erika;

    While you're in Russian Mission, you'll probably meet a wonderful woman named Nastasia Vaska. She's working toward her teaching degree and assisting in the schools. She's a talented writer and is very knowledgeable about life in the roadless interior. You would probably enjoy her blog. I hope you cross paths. If you do, please tell her that I said hello.
